Tamworth Caregivers is a volunteer organization
that organizes neighborly assistance for Tamworth residents. We are seeking volunteers who would
like to lend a hand to a neighbor. We currently need volunteers who
would like to provide transportation to local medical appointments,
shopping and errands. Occasionally we have long distance medical
transportation request. A small amount of your time could make a big
difference to someone who needs your help. For more information on
becoming a volunteer for Tamworth Caregivers, please call Melissa at
603-323-7697 or email

We need your help to support a student in one of the local schools.
The Mt. Washington Valley School to Career Partnership and Big Brothers
Big Sisters of NH have teamed up to develop a school-based mentoring
program in our schools. We need people to volunteer their time with
one student, one hour a week from January through May during lunch or
after school.
We have waiting list of students needing an adult mentor in the
following schools: Bartlett, Pine Tree, John Fuller, Madison, Tamworth,
and Kennett Middle School. You can spend the time talking, playing a
game or doing a hands-on activity. Volunteers can also work in small
groups together. Training and support will be provided.
Make a resolution now to support a child! For further information,
please contact Hanna Billington, Mentor Coordinator, at 447-2350 or
email her at Hanna@mwvschooltocareer.com. Thank you.
The Tamworth Meals on Wheels program is in
desperate need of volunteers to deliver meals to approximately 23 homes.
Meals are delivered Mon-Fri at noon time. You can sign up for one day a
month or up to one day a week. If you are over 60 you can also be
reimbursed for mileage. This is a great program that provides to people
who might otherwise never get a hot meal. In some cases the person
delivering the meal might be the only person the recipient sees in a
day. I guarantee it is something that will give you great personal
reward. Please consider helping. It would take about two hours of your
time. If you think you can help with this important community service
please call Sharon Nothnagle at the Tamworth Community Nurses office,
323-8511. She will give you more details and arrange an orientation for
you.
